Accelerated Reader (AR) is used from 1st - 6th class. It is a computer-based reading software programme, developed by Renaissance Learning. It monitors and manages independent reading practice in schools. It encourages reading by having students choose books at their own level, take comprehension quizzes and earn points providing teachers with data to track progress. The children work towards both individual and class termly targets.

1st - 6th class use Spellings for Me, which is an online spelling programme that adapts to each child’s needs, ensuring they receive customised spelling tests. Each child is able to track their progress and allows them to complete spelling tests tailored to their current ability.

We take part in the annual Credit Union Quiz. Each child from 3rd - 6th gets an opportunity to try out to participate. We also take part in quizzes organised by schools in the locality and host inter-school quizzes for World Book Day, Seachtain na Gaeilge and for other special occasions
